Lagrangian formulation of irreducible massive fields of arbitrary spin in 2+1 dimensions
Igor Tyutin, Mikhail Vasiliev (Lebedev Physical Institute)

TL;DR
This paper develops a Lagrangian framework for describing free massive particles of any spin in 2+1 dimensions, linking it to four-dimensional self-duality equations.
Contribution
It introduces a novel Lagrangian formulation for irreducible massive fields of arbitrary spin in three dimensions, expanding theoretical understanding.
Findings
Provides explicit Lagrangian formulations for various spins
Establishes connections with four-dimensional self-duality equations
Enhances the theoretical toolkit for 2+1D field theories
Abstract
Lagrangian formulation of free massive fields corresponding to irreducible representations of the Poincare group of arbitrary integer and half-integer spins in three-dimensional space-time is presented. A relationship of the theory under consideration with the self-duality equations in four dimensions is discussed.
