Stringy Cosmic Strings and Compactifications of F-theory
Masako Asano

TL;DR
This paper constructs stringy cosmic string solutions within F-theory compactifications on elliptic Calabi-Yau manifolds, providing evidence for the viability of these compactifications in string theory.
Contribution
It presents explicit solutions of cosmic strings in F-theory compactifications, advancing understanding of their geometric and physical properties.
Findings
Existence of cosmic string solutions supports F-theory compactifications.
Solutions are constructed from low energy effective action of type IIB superstring theory.
Results reinforce the consistency of F-theory models with cosmic string phenomena.
Abstract
We construct stringy cosmic string solutions corresponding to compactifications of F-theory on several elliptic Calabi-Yau manifolds by solving the equations of motion of low energy effective action of ten dimensional type IIB superstring theory. Existence of such solutions supports the compactifications of F-theory.
