Quaternionic Electroweak Theory and CKM Matrix
Stefano De Leo (Dip. di Fisica, INFN, Lecce)

TL;DR
This paper explores a quaternionic reformulation of the electroweak theory, focusing on how it alters the calculation of CKM matrix parameters and aims to resolve this conceptual puzzle.
Contribution
It introduces a quaternionic approach to electroweak theory and investigates its impact on CKM matrix parameter calculations, addressing a significant theoretical challenge.
Findings
Quaternionic formulation significantly changes CKM matrix parameter calculations.
The paper identifies a conceptual puzzle in transitioning from complex to quaternionic frameworks.
It proposes explanations for the discrepancies observed in the quaternionic approach.
Abstract
We find in our quaternionic version of the electroweak theory an apparently hopeless problem: In going from complex to quaternions, the calculation of the real-valued parameters of the CKM matrix drastically changes. We aim to explain this quaternionic puzzle.
