TL;DR
This paper constructs exact string solutions involving nonabelian gauge fields within anomalously gauged WZW models, exploring both compact and noncompact groups and their associated conformal theories.
Contribution
It introduces new solutions with nonabelian fields in string theory using anomalously gauged WZW models, including explicit examples with various coset spaces.
Findings
Constructed solutions with nonabelian fields in string backgrounds.
Analyzed conformal theories on specific coset spaces like SO(4)/SO(3).
Extended the framework to noncompact groups such as SO(2,1)/SO(1,1).
Abstract
Within the framework of "anomalously gauged" Wess-Zumino-Witten (WZW) models, we construct solutions which include nonabelian fields. Both compact and noncompact groups are discussed. In the case of compact groups, as an example of background containing nonabelian fields, we discuss conformal theory on the coset, which is the natural generalization of the 2D monopole theory corresponding to the coset. In noncompact case, we consider examples with and cosets.
