Global effects in quaternionic quantum field theory
S.P. Brumby, G.C. Joshi (Melbourne Uni.)

TL;DR
This paper explores a quaternionic quantum field theory that predicts cosmic strings and dark matter candidates by making the quaternionic structure a dynamical element, revealing significant global implications of the model.
Contribution
It introduces a locally complex quaternionic quantum field theory where the quaternionic structure is dynamic, leading to novel cosmological predictions.
Findings
Prediction of cosmic strings from the model
Identification of non-baryonic hot dark matter candidates
Global consequences of quaternionic quantum field theory
Abstract
We present some striking global consequences of a model quaternionic quantum field theory which is locally complex. We show how making the quaternionic structure a dynamical quantity naturally leads to the prediction of cosmic strings and non-baryonic hot dark matter candidates.
