Effective Potential in String Induced Action
Kazuo Ghoroku, Kazunari Kaneko

TL;DR
This paper investigates the dynamical properties of a Born-Infeld type gauge theory with an added complex scalar field, focusing on the Coleman-Weinberg mechanism to understand its high-energy effective behavior.
Contribution
It introduces a novel analysis of the Born-Infeld gauge theory incorporating scalar fields and explores the Coleman-Weinberg mechanism within this framework.
Findings
Demonstrates the potential for spontaneous symmetry breaking via Coleman-Weinberg mechanism.
Provides insights into the high-energy effective dynamics of Born-Infeld gauge theories.
Suggests implications for string theory effective actions.
Abstract
The dynamical properties of the gauge theory of Born-Infeld type action, which is expected as the high-energy effective theory, are investigated by adding a complex scalar field to this gauge system. Especially the Coleman-Weinberg mechanism is addressed in this theory.
