TL;DR
This paper explores the actions of p-branes and D-branes in curved backgrounds, analyzing their properties and the influence of SL(2,R) duality symmetry on five-brane actions.
Contribution
It provides a detailed formulation of p-brane and D-brane actions in arbitrary curved backgrounds and examines the duality symmetry effects on five-brane actions.
Findings
Derived explicit actions for p-branes and D-branes in curved backgrounds.
Analyzed the transformation properties of five-brane actions under SL(2,R) duality.
Discussed properties and symmetries of brane actions in string theory.
Abstract
We consider the actions for ten--dimensional --branes and --branes in an arbitrary curved background and discuss some of their properties. We comment on how the duality symmetry acts on the five--brane actions.
