TL;DR
This paper analyzes the measure in three-dimensional Nambu-Goto string theory, revealing its decomposition into a measure on area-preserving transformations and a trivial measure for surface area.
Contribution
It introduces a simple decomposition of the measure in three-dimensional Nambu-Goto string theory, clarifying its structure in terms of geometric transformations.

Insight into the geometric nature of the measure in string theory
Abstract
We show that the measure of the three dimensional Nambu-Goto string theory has a simple decomposition as a measure on two parameter group of induced area-preserving transformations of the immersed surface and a trivial measure for the area of the surface.
