Michael Green, Jeffrey A. Harvey, Gregory Moore

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates how anomaly inflow arguments can derive the anomalous couplings of D-brane gauge and gravitational fields to Ramond-Ramond potentials, clarifying the gravitational coupling structure.
Contribution
It introduces a straightforward anomaly inflow method to determine D-brane couplings, including the eight-form gravitational coupling, advancing understanding of D-brane interactions.
Findings
Derived anomalous couplings using anomaly inflow
Determined the eight-form gravitational coupling
Provided a simple method for analyzing D-brane couplings
Abstract
We show that the anomalous couplings of -brane gauge and gravitational fields to Ramond-Ramond tensor potentials can be deduced by a simple anomaly inflow argument applied to intersecting -branes and use this to determine the eight-form gravitational coupling.
