Dual N=2 SUSY Breaking
I. Antoniadis, T.R. Taylor

TL;DR
This paper explores mechanisms of spontaneous supersymmetry breaking in N=2 theories with abelian vector multiplets, highlighting conditions for partial breaking and restoration of N=2 SUSY through dyon condensation.
Contribution
It introduces the most general action with Fayet-Iliopoulos terms, including magnetic ones, and analyzes their role in SUSY breaking and restoration in N=2 theories.
Findings
Magnetic Fayet-Iliopoulos terms enable partial SUSY breaking.
Dyon condensation can restore N=2 SUSY vacua.
The work extends understanding of SUSY breaking mechanisms in N=2 models.
Abstract
We discuss spontaneous supersymmetry breaking in globally supersymmetric theories describing abelian vector multiplets. The most general form of the action admits, in addition to the usual Fayet-Iliopoulos term, a magnetic Fayet-Iliopoulos term for the auxiliary components of dual vector multiplets. In a generic case, this leads to a spontaneous breakdown of one of the two supersymmetries. In some cases however, dyon condensation restores SUSY vacuum.
