TL;DR
This paper explores how T-duality relates D-branes in supergravity solutions and their actions, revealing effects like a topological mass term induced by a cosmological constant in IIA theory.
Contribution
It demonstrates the realization of T-duality on D-brane solutions and actions, and uncovers the impact of a cosmological constant on worldvolume gauge fields.
Findings
T-duality maps p-brane solutions in IIA/IIB supergravity.
D-brane actions transform consistently under T-duality.
A cosmological constant induces a topological mass term in 2-brane gauge fields.
Abstract
We show how the --duality between --branes is realized (i) on --brane solutions of IIA/IIB supergravity and (ii) on the --brane actions ( that act as source terms for the --brane solutions. We point out that the presence of a cosmological constant in the IIA theory leads, by the requirement of gauge invariance, to a topological mass term for the worldvolume gauge field in the 2--brane case.
