TL;DR
This paper introduces a novel class of spherically symmetric monopole and dyon solutions within the Weinberg-Salam model, expanding the understanding of magnetic monopoles in electroweak theory.
Contribution
It presents the first known monopole and dyon solutions with magnetic charge in the Weinberg-Salam model, bridging abelian and non-abelian monopole concepts.
Findings
New monopole and dyon solutions with magnetic charge 4π/e
Hybrid interpretation between Dirac and 't Hooft-Polyakov monopoles
Discussion of potential physical implications of electroweak dyons
Abstract
We present a new type of spherically symmetric monopole and dyon solutions with the magnetic charge in the standard Weinberg-Salam model. The monopole (and dyon) could be interpreted as a non-trivial hybrid between the abelian Dirac monopole and non-abelian 't Hooft-Polyakov monopole (with an electric charge). We discuss the possible physical implications of the electroweak dyon.
