Gas of D-Branes and Hagedorn Density of BPS States
Cumrun Vafa

TL;DR
This paper investigates the Hagedorn density of BPS states with RR charge in type II compactifications, linking them to supersymmetric ground states of a 0-brane gas, and tests theoretical predictions.
Contribution
It provides a test of the Hagedorn density prediction for BPS states and connects these states to supersymmetric 0-brane ground states in specific compactifications.
Findings
Confirmation of Hagedorn density behavior in certain BPS states
Identification of BPS states with supersymmetric 0-brane ground states
Support for theoretical models of D-brane gases
Abstract
We test the prediction of a hagedorn density of BPS states which carry RR charge in type II compactifications. We find that in certain cases they correspond to the supersymmetric ground states for a gas of identical 0-branes.
