I. Antoniadis, J. Iliopoulos, T.N. Tomaras

TL;DR
This paper calculates the one-loop quantum correction to the gravitational effective action in de Sitter space, showing it vanishes and confirming gauge invariance of the result.
Contribution
It provides a gauge-invariant computation of the non-local one-loop effective action around de Sitter space, demonstrating its vanishing.
Findings
The one-loop effective action contribution vanishes in de Sitter space.
The calculation confirms gauge invariance of the result.
The method uses the background field approach with pure trace gravitational fields.
Abstract
The non-local one-loop contribution to the gravitational effective action around de Sitter space is computed using the background field method with pure trace external gravitational fields and it is shown to vanish. The calculation is performed in a generic covariant gauge and the result is verified to be gauge invariant.
