S-Duality Constraints On Effective Potentials For Gaugino Condensation
Pierre Binetruy, Mary K. Gaillard

TL;DR
This paper explores how approximate S-duality in string-derived supergravity theories can be used to impose constraints on effective Lagrangians describing gaugino condensation, enhancing understanding of non-perturbative effects.
Contribution
It demonstrates the application of approximate S-duality to constrain effective potentials in supergravity models related to string theory.
Findings
S-duality imposes specific constraints on gaugino condensation potentials.
Approximate S-duality helps refine effective supergravity descriptions.
The approach improves understanding of non-perturbative effects in string compactifications.
Abstract
We clarify the role of approximate S-duality in effective supergravity theories that are the low energy limits of string theories, and show how this partial symmetry may be used to constrain effective lagrangians for gaugino condensation.
