String Field Theories from One Matrix Models
Michio Ikehara (KEK, Univ. of Tokyo)

TL;DR
This paper derives the string field theory equations from the continuum limit of a one matrix model, confirming their consistency with recent background independent formulations.
Contribution
It establishes a connection between one matrix models and string field theories through the continuum limit and Schwinger-Dyson equations.
Findings
Derived Schwinger-Dyson equations match background independent formulations.
Confirmed the continuum limit of the matrix model yields string field theory.
Validated the approach at the multicritical point.
Abstract
Through the continuum limit of the one matrix model on the multicritical point the corresponding Schwinger-Dyson equation of temporal-gauge string field theory is derived. It agrees with that of the background independent formulation recently proposed.
