Entropy for extremal Reissner- Nordstr\o m black holes
Amit Ghosh, P. Mitra

TL;DR
This paper reinterprets the mass of extremal Reissner-Nordström black holes as gravitational entropy and examines the divergent behavior of scalar field entropy in this background.
Contribution
It offers a new perspective on black hole mass as entropy and analyzes the divergence of scalar field entropy in extremal black hole spacetimes.
Findings
Mass correlates with gravitational entropy in extremal black holes
Scalar field entropy diverges more strongly than in non-extremal cases
Provides insights into the thermodynamic interpretation of extremal black holes
Abstract
We reinterpret recent work on extremal Reissner- Nordstr\o m black holes to argue that the mass is a measure of the gravitational entropy. We also find that the entropy of scalar fields in this background has a stronger divergence than usual.
