Contribution
It introduces a novel analysis of topological terms in orbifold string models and discusses the possibility of new modular invariant orbifold constructions.
Findings
Physical interpretations of topological terms provided
Potential for new modular invariant orbifold models identified
Framework for analyzing topological invariants in orbifolds established
Abstract
We study toroidal orbifold models with topologically invariant terms in the path integral formalism and give physical interpretations of the terms from an operator formalism point of view. We briefly discuss a possibility of a new class of modular invariant orbifold models.
