Duality Symmetries and Supersymmetry Breaking in String Compactifications
G. Lopes Cardoso, D. Lust, Thomas Mohaupt

TL;DR
This paper explores how duality symmetries influence supersymmetry breaking in string compactifications, highlighting issues like non-universal soft parameters and the $$-problem within the effective supergravity framework.
Contribution
It analyzes the role of duality symmetries in supersymmetry breaking and discusses the non-universality of soft parameters and the $$-problem in string-derived supergravity.
Findings
Duality symmetries constrain supersymmetry breaking patterns.
Soft supersymmetry breaking parameters are non-universal.
The $$-problem remains a key challenge in string compactifications.
Abstract
We discuss the spontaneous supersymetry breaking within the low-energy effective supergravity action of four-dimensional superstrings. In particular, we emphasize the non-universality of the soft supersymmetry breaking parameters, the -problem and the duality symmetries.
