D. Bailin, A. Love, W. A. Sabra, S. Thomas

TL;DR
This paper investigates duality symmetry in heterotic string orbifold compactifications considering both continuous and discrete Wilson lines, expanding understanding of background effects on string dualities.
Contribution
It introduces a comprehensive analysis of duality symmetry incorporating general background fields, including discrete and continuous Wilson lines, in heterotic string orbifolds.
Findings
Duality symmetry persists with complex background configurations.
Continuous and discrete Wilson lines significantly influence duality properties.
The study broadens the understanding of background effects on string dualities.
Abstract
Duality Symmetry is studied for heterotic string orbifold compactifications in the presence of a general background which in addition to the metric and antisymmetric tensor contains both discrete and continuous Wilson lines background.
