Higher Order Correction to the GHS String Black Hole
Makoto Natsuume

TL;DR
This paper investigates the first-order string theory corrections to the GHS black hole solution, revealing a mass correction for the extremal case through comprehensive operator analysis and field redefinitions.
Contribution
It provides a detailed calculation of the $ ext{α'}$ correction to the GHS black hole, including all operators up to dimension four, and identifies a mass correction for the extremal solution.
Findings
Mass correction for extremal GHS black hole identified
All dimension four operators included in correction analysis
Field redefinition technique used for systematic analysis
Abstract
We study the order correction to the string black hole found by Garfinkle, Horowitz, and Strominger. We include all operators of dimension up to four in the Lagrangian, and use the field redefinition technique which facilitates the analysis. A mass correction, which is implied by the work of Giddings, Polchinski, and Strominger, is found for the extremal GHS black hole.
