Taub--NUT Dyons in Heterotic String Theory
Clifford V. Johnson, Robert C. Myers

TL;DR
This paper constructs and analyzes dyonic Taub--NUT solutions within heterotic string theory, revealing their duals and connections to conformal field theories, thus advancing understanding of stringy gravitational solutions.
Contribution
It introduces a method to generate dyonic Taub--NUT solutions with non-trivial fields using $O(1,1)$ transformations and explores their duals via $SL(2, line)$ transformations, linking to conformal field theory limits.
Findings
Constructed dyonic Taub--NUT solutions with non-trivial dilaton, axion, and gauge fields.
Derived electromagnetic dual solutions using $SL(2, line)$ transformations.
Connected extremal dual solutions to low energy limits of exact conformal field theories.
Abstract
Starting with the Taub--NUT solution to Einstein's equations, together with a constant dilaton, a dyonic Taub--NUT solution of low energy heterotic string theory with non--trivial dilaton, axion and gauge fields is constructed by employing transformations. The electromagnetic dual of this solution is constructed, using transformations. By an appropriate change to scaled variables, the extremal limit of the dual solution is shown to correspond to the low energy limit of an exact conformal field theory presented previously.
