Kazuo Ghoroku, Arne L. Larsen

TL;DR
This paper investigates the 2+1 dimensional black hole in anti-de Sitter space using an exact conformal field theory approach, calculating scattering coefficients and deriving the Hawking temperature.
Contribution
It provides an exact string-theoretic analysis of the 2+1 black hole, including scattering properties and a derivation of the Hawking temperature from a conformal field theory perspective.
Findings
Calculated off-shell reflection and transmission coefficients.
Derived an expression for the Hawking temperature.
Connected the temperature to statistical results in a certain limit.
Abstract
The 2+1 black hole anti de Sitter solution, obtained as a special limit of the conformally exact coset WZW model to all orders in 1/k, is investigated with respect to tachyon scattering. We calculate the off-shell reflection and transmission coefficients and we find an expression for the Hawking temperature, which in a certain limit reduces to the statistical result.
