String solutions with non-constant scalar fields
A.A. Tseytlin

TL;DR
This paper reviews charged string solutions in four-dimensional heterotic string theory with dynamic scalar fields, highlighting the effects of moduli-dependent couplings and scalar potentials on these solutions.
Contribution
It provides a comprehensive review of non-constant scalar field solutions in heterotic string theory, incorporating moduli-dependent couplings and non-perturbative potentials.
Findings
Charged string solutions with non-constant dilaton and modulus fields are characterized.
Moduli-dependent couplings significantly influence string solution properties.
Non-perturbative scalar potentials affect the stability and structure of solutions.
Abstract
We discuss charged string solutions of the effective equations of D=4 heterotic string theory with non-constant dilaton and modulus fields. The effective action contains a generic moduli-dependent coupling function in the gauge field kinetic term and a non-perturbative scalar potential. This is a review of hep-th/9307123 by M.
