TL;DR
This paper reviews the role of $$-symmetry, a fermionic gauge symmetry crucial in superstring and supermembrane theories, and explores its connection to twistor-like formulations.
Contribution
It provides a comprehensive review of $$-symmetry and its relation to twistor formulations in extended objects.
Findings
Clarifies the importance of $$-symmetry in superstring theories.
Discusses the connection between $$-symmetric models and twistor approaches.
Summarizes key aspects of fermionic gauge symmetries in higher-dimensional theories.
Abstract
We review various aspects of a fermionic gauge symmetry, known as the --symmetry, which plays an important role in formulations of superstrings, supermembranes and higher dimensional extended objects. We also review some aspects of the connection between --symmetric theories and their twistor-like formulations.
