Half-String Approach to Closed String Field Theory
F. Anton, A. Abdurrahman, J. Bordes

TL;DR
This paper introduces an operator formalism for Closed String Field Theory using closed half-strings, representing classical non-polynomial string interactions as traces of infinite matrices with reparametrisation operators.
Contribution
It develops a novel operator formalism for closed string field theory based on half-strings, providing a new mathematical representation of string interactions.
Findings
Classical non-polynomial string field theory interactions can be represented as traces of infinite matrices.
The formalism employs operator insertions that reparametrize the half-strings.
The approach offers a new perspective on the mathematical structure of string interactions.
Abstract
In this letter we present an operator formalism for Closed String Field Theory based on closed half-strings. Our results indicate that the restricted polyhedra of the classical non-polynomial string field theory, can be represented as traces of infinite matrices, with operator insertions that reparametrise the half-strings.
