Twistor--like Formulation of the Supermembrane in D=11 $^*$
P. Pasti, M. Tonin

TL;DR
This paper introduces a new twistor-like formulation of the D=11 supermembrane theory that features extended world volume supersymmetry, offering a different perspective while remaining classically equivalent to the standard formulation.
Contribution
It presents a novel twistor-like approach to the supermembrane in D=11 with extended supersymmetry, replacing parts of the traditional kappa-symmetry.
Findings
The new formulation is classically equivalent to the standard supermembrane theory.
It incorporates commuting spinors and manifest extended supersymmetry.
The approach simplifies certain symmetry aspects of the supermembrane.
Abstract
We propose a new formulation of the D=11 supermembrane theory that involves commuting spinors (twistor--like variables) and exhibits a manifest --extended world volume supersymmetry . This supersymmetry replaces components of the usual --symmetry. We show that this formulation is classically equivalent to the standard one.
