Model-Independent Analysis of Soft Terms in Effective Supergravity and in String Theory
Vadim Kaplunovsky, Jan Louis

TL;DR
This paper analyzes how supersymmetry breaks in effective supergravity theories derived from string theory, focusing on the soft parameters in the supersymmetric Standard Model without pinpointing the exact cause.
Contribution
It provides a model-independent analysis of soft supersymmetry-breaking terms in effective supergravity and string theory frameworks.
Findings
Soft terms are characterized without specifying the supersymmetry-breaking trigger.
The analysis applies broadly to low-energy limits of superstring theories.
Provides insights into the structure of supersymmetry breaking in effective theories.
Abstract
We discuss supersymmetry breakdown in effective supergravities such as emerge in the low-energy limit of superstring theory. Without specifying the precise trigger of the breakdown, we analyse the soft parameters in the Lagrangian of the supersymmetrized Standard Model.
