TL;DR
This paper explores how the requirement of metric independence in the path integral measure constrains the particle content and space-time dimensions in topological field theories.
Contribution
It introduces a method to derive constraints on particle types and space-time dimensions based on metric independence in topological field theories.

Abstract
By demanding that the path integral measure of topological field theories be metric independent, we can derive powerful constraints on the particle content of a topological field theory as well as on the dimensionality of space-time.
