Symmetries of String Effective Action and Space-Time Geometry
S. Pratik Khastgir, Jnanadeva Maharana

TL;DR
This paper explores how $O(2,2)$ transformations relate different black hole and monopole solutions, illustrating their role as duality transformations in string theory's effective actions and space-time geometry.
Contribution
It demonstrates that specific $O(2,2)$ transformations connect various black hole and monopole solutions, highlighting their interpretation as dualities in string theory.
Findings
Two-dimensional charged black hole obtained via $O(2,2)$ transformation.
Different five-dimensional monopole backgrounds related through $O(2,2)$.
$O(2,2)$ transformations correspond to duality transformations.
Abstract
Two dimensional charged black hole solution is obtained by implementing an transformation on the three dimensional black string solution. Two different monopole backgrounds in five dimensions are related through an transformation. It has been shown in these examples that the particular transformation corresponds to duality transformation.
