Higher Order Conformal Invariance of String Backgrounds Obtained by O(d,d) Transformations
J. Panvel

TL;DR
This paper investigates how $O(d,d)$ transformations can generate non-trivial conformally invariant string backgrounds from trivial ones, demonstrating that higher order corrections are necessary for conformal invariance at two loops.
Contribution
It shows that conformal invariance in transformed backgrounds can be maintained by adding specific higher order corrections to the metric and dilaton.
Findings
Conformal invariance achieved at two loops with corrections.
$O(d,d)$ boosts produce non-trivial backgrounds.
Higher order corrections are essential for invariance.
Abstract
Proposals that boosts of trivial backgrounds lead to non-trivial conformally invariant backgrounds are checked to two loop order. We find that conformal invariance can be achieved by adding simple higher order corrections to the metric and dilaton.
