TL;DR
This paper investigates the cocycle properties of vertex operators in string theories on orbifolds, providing an operator framework to ensure amplitude duality and classify consistent orbifold string theories.
Contribution
It introduces an operator representation of cocycle operators, enabling the systematic construction of consistent string theories on orbifolds.
Findings
Operator representation of cocycle operators established
General class of consistent orbifold string theories derived
Ensures duality of amplitudes in orbifold models
Abstract
We study cocycle properties of vertex operators and present an operator representation of cocycle operators, which are attached to vertex operators to ensure the duality of amplitudes. It is shown that this analysis makes it possible to obtain the general class of consistent string theories on orbifolds.
