Generating mass and topological terms to the antisymmetric tensor matter field by Higgs mechanism
L. Gonzaga Filho, M. S. Cunha, C. A. S. Almeida, R. R. Landim

TL;DR
This paper explores how the Higgs mechanism can generate mass and topological terms in the complex antisymmetric tensor matter field through its interaction with a scalar field.
Contribution
It introduces a novel approach to generate mass and topological terms for the antisymmetric tensor matter field via spontaneous symmetry breaking.
Findings
Mass terms are generated for the tensor matter field.
Topological terms emerge naturally from the Higgs mechanism.
The interaction with the scalar field is crucial for these effects.
Abstract
The interaction between the complex antisymmetric tensor matter field and a scalar field is constructed. We analyze the Higgs mechanism and show the generation of mass and topological terms by spontaneous symmetry breaking.
