TL;DR
This paper discusses potential ultraviolet finiteness of four-dimensional N=8 supergravity and M-graviton amplitudes at high loop orders based on string perturbation theory insights.
Contribution
It proposes new conjectures about the ultraviolet behavior of supergravity amplitudes at high loop levels, extending previous understanding.
Findings
Four-graviton amplitude may be finite up to eight loops.
M-graviton amplitude might be finite for loops less than 7+M/2.
Supports the possibility of ultraviolet finiteness in supergravity theories.
Abstract
We argue that recent results in string perturbation theory indicate that the four-graviton amplitude of four-dimensional N=8 supergravity might be ultraviolet finite up to eight loops. We similarly argue that the h-loop M-graviton amplitude might be finite for h<7+M/2.
