TL;DR
This paper studies the stability of string configurations representing heavy-quark mesons in a thermal AdS space, exploring how small deformations affect their stability and considering the role of massive string state emissions in their evolution.
Contribution
It provides an analysis of string stability in a thermal AdS background and discusses potential decay mechanisms involving massive string states.
Findings
Small deformations can destabilize string configurations.
Emission of massive string states may influence the evolution of unstable mesons.
Insights into the dynamics of heavy-quark mesons in holographic models.
Abstract
We investigate the stability against small deformations of strings dangling into AdS_5-Schwarzschild from a moving heavy quark-anti-quark pair. We speculate that emission of massive string states may be an important part of the evolution of certain unstable configurations.
