Drag force in SYM plasma with B field from AdS/CFT
Toshihiro Matsuo, Dan Tomino, and Wen-Yu Wen

TL;DR
This paper studies how a non-zero B-field affects the drag force experienced by a quark or monopole in N=4 super Yang-Mills plasma using AdS/CFT, revealing corrections to string configurations and forces.
Contribution
It introduces the effects of a NSNS B-field on drag force calculations in SYM plasma within the AdS/CFT framework, providing new insights into external field influences.
Findings
Drag force receives corrections due to the B-field.
String tail configurations are altered by the B-field.
External electromagnetic fields impact the string dynamics.
Abstract
We investigate drag force in a thermal plasma of N=4 super Yang-Mills theory via both fundamental and Dirichlet strings under the influence of non-zero NSNS -field background. In the description of AdS/CFT correspondence the endpoint of these strings correspondes to an external monopole or quark moving with a constant electromagnetic field. We demonstrate how the configuration of string tail as well as the drag force obtains corrections in this background.
