New type scalar fields for cosmic acceleration
Alex Kehagias

TL;DR
This paper introduces a novel scalar field model that can mimic dark energy and drive cosmic acceleration, offering potential insights into the cosmological constant problem.
Contribution
It proposes a new type of scalar field configuration that effectively acts as a cosmological constant, contributing to dark energy modeling.
Findings
Scalar field can induce cosmic acceleration
Model provides an alternative explanation for dark energy
Discussion on implications for the cosmological constant problem
Abstract
We present a model where a non-conventional scalar field may act like dark energy leading to cosmic acceleration. The latter is driven by an appropriate field configuration, which result in an effective cosmological constant. The potential role of such a scalar in the cosmological constant problem is also discussed.
