Supersymmetric bulk-brane coupling with odd gauge fields
Dmitry V. Belyaev

TL;DR
This paper explores supersymmetric bulk-brane couplings with odd gauge fields using a superfield approach, revealing modifications in Bianchi identities and supersymmetry transformations, and introduces a compensator superfield in the boundary picture.
Contribution
It provides a novel superfield formulation for bulk-brane couplings involving odd gauge fields, clarifying the origin of modified identities and transformations.
Findings
Modified Bianchi identities and supersymmetry transformations are derived.
A superfield formulation explains the origin of these modifications.
A compensator superfield is introduced in the boundary picture.
Abstract
Supersymmetric bulk-brane coupling in Horava-Witten and Randall-Sundrum scenarios, when considered in the orbifold (``upstairs'') picture, enjoys similar features: a modified Bianchi identity and a modified supersymmetry transformation for the ``orthogonal'' part of the gauge field. Using a toy model with a 5D vector multiplet in the bulk (like in Mirabelli-Peskin model, but with an \emph{odd} gauge field ), we explain how these features arise from the superfield formulation. We also show that the corresponding construction in the boundary (``downstairs'') picture requires introduction of a special ``compensator'' (super)field.
