CFT for Closed String Tachyon Condensation
Takao Suyama

TL;DR
This paper develops a class of conformal field theories that model space-dependent closed string tachyon condensation, capturing the entire process within a single CFT framework and applying it to various deformations of target space.
Contribution
It introduces a novel CFT construction for describing space-dependent closed string tachyon backgrounds as IR limits of GLSMs with superfield FI-parameters, enabling a unified description of tachyon condensation.
Findings
Successfully models drastic target space deformations during tachyon condensation
Demonstrates variation in dilaton backgrounds as tachyons condense
Provides explicit examples illustrating the CFT construction
Abstract
We construct a class of CFT's which describe space-dependent closed string tachyon backgrounds, as the IR limit of GLSM's in which the FI-parameter is promoted to a superfield. Whole process of tachyon condensation is described by a single CFT. We apply this construction to several examples, in which target space is deformed drastically, and the dilaton background may vary, as a tachyon condenses.
