Contribution
It introduces an exact formula for the vacuum expectation value of the evolution operator applicable to Hamiltonians with unstable particles.
Findings
Derived an exact large time behavior formula for the evolution operator.
Applicable to Hamiltonians in quantum field theory with unstable particles.
Provides insights into the decay processes in quantum systems.
Abstract
The vacuum expectation value of the evolution operator for a general class of Hamiltonians used in quantum field theory and statistical physics and which include unstable particles is considered. An exact formula which describes the large time behavior of the evolution operator is proved.
