AdS non-linear curvature-squared and curvature-quartic multidimensional (D=8) gravitational models with stabilized extra dimensions
Tamerlan Saidov, Alexander Zhuk

TL;DR
This paper explores a higher-dimensional gravitational model with quadratic and quartic curvature corrections, demonstrating conditions under which extra dimensions can be stabilized and resulting in an asymptotically AdS four-dimensional spacetime.
Contribution
It introduces a specific D=8 model with curvature corrections and analyzes stability conditions for extra dimensions, highlighting stabilization mechanisms.
Findings
Stable extra dimensions are possible in certain parameter regions.
The effective 4D cosmological constant is negative.
The external spacetime is asymptotically Anti-de Sitter.
Abstract
We investigate -dimensional gravitational model with curvature-quadratic and curvature-quartic correction terms: . It is assumed that the corresponding higher dimensional spacetime manifold undergos a spontaneous compactification to a manifold with warped product structure. Special attention is paid to the stability of the extra-dimensional factor space for a model with critical dimension D=8. It is shown that for certain parameter regions the model allows for a freezing stabilization of this space. The effective four-dimensional cosmological constant is negative and the external four-dimensional spacetime is asymptotically AdS.
