TL;DR
This paper classifies all maximally supersymmetric G-backgrounds in IIB supergravity, revealing geometric structures and discovering new supersymmetric pp-wave solutions.
Contribution
It provides a comprehensive classification of all such backgrounds, including new solutions, based on the stability subgroup G and the geometry of the spacetime.
Findings
Spacetimes are products of maximally supersymmetric solutions and Riemannian manifolds with holonomy G.
Non-compact G leads to pp-wave solutions with specific holonomy.
New supersymmetric pp-wave solutions of IIB supergravity are identified.
Abstract
We classify the geometry of all supersymmetric IIB backgrounds which admit the maximal number of -invariant Killing spinors. For compact stability subgroups and SU(2), the spacetime is locally isometric to a product with , where is a maximally supersymmetric solution of a -dimensional supergravity theory and is a Riemannian manifold with holonomy . For non-compact stability subgroups, , , SU(4), , and , the spacetime is a pp-wave propagating in an eight-dimensional manifold with holonomy . We find new supersymmetric pp-wave solutions of IIB supergravity.
