Hiroyuki Okagawa, Shozo Uehara, Satoshi Yamada

TL;DR
This paper derives the action of a (p,q)-string in type IIB superstring theory from a wrapped supermembrane on a 2-torus, explicitly showing the charges and tension match expected results.
Contribution
It provides a direct derivation of the (p,q)-string action and tension from the wrapped supermembrane, clarifying the classical bosonic sector analysis.
Findings
Derived (p,q)-string action from supermembrane
Confirmed tension matches (p,q)-string predictions
Explicitly identified RR and NSNS charges
Abstract
We consider a wrapped supermembrane on . We examine a double dimensional reduction to deduce a -string in type IIB superstring theory from the wrapped supermembrane. In particular, directly from the wrapped supermembrane action, we explicitly derive the action of a string which carries the RR 2-form charge as well as the NSNS 2-form charge, and the tension of the string agrees with the -string tension.
