TL;DR
This paper extends IIA supergravity with two 10-form potentials, revealing a new 9-brane and exploring the gauge algebra's relation to the conjectured $E_{11}$ symmetry in string/M-theory.
Contribution
It introduces two independent 10-form potentials in IIA supergravity and analyzes their impact on gauge algebra and symmetry structures.
Findings
Identification of a single BPS IIA 9-brane from 10-form potentials
Analysis of the gauge algebra with 10-form potentials in IIA and IIB supergravity
Connection between gauge algebra and the $E_{11}$ symmetry conjecture
Abstract
We show that IIA supergravity can be extended with two independent 10-form potentials. These give rise to a single BPS IIA 9-brane. We investigate the bosonic gauge algebra of both IIA and IIB supergravity in the presence of 10-form potentials and point out an intriguing relation with the symmetry algebra , which has been conjectured to be the underlying symmetry of string theory/M-theory.
