Form-field bremsstrahlung under collision of p-branes
Dmitry Galtsov, Elena Melkumova, Karim Salehi

TL;DR
This paper calculates classical form-field radiation emitted during ultrarelativistic collisions of p-branes in higher-dimensional spacetime, revealing Cherenkov-like radiation patterns and extending previous models to general p-branes.
Contribution
It provides a perturbative calculation of brane collision radiation, highlighting conditions for Cherenkov cone formation and generalizing to arbitrary p-branes in higher dimensions.
Findings
Radiation appears at second order in perturbation theory.
Cherenkov cone features are observed in the radiation pattern.
The model extends to p-branes in D=p+3 dimensions.
Abstract
We calculate classically the radiation of the antisymmetric form field generated in the collision of two non-excited membranes moving with ultrarelativistic velocities in five space-time dimensions. The interaction between branes through the form field is treated perturbatively with the deflection angle as a small parameter. Radiation arises in the second order approximation if the domain of the minimal separation between the branes moves with the superluminal velocity. It exhibits typical Cherenkov cone features. Generalization to p-branes colliding in dimensions is straightforward.
