Aram A. Saharian

TL;DR
This paper reviews recent advances in calculating vacuum expectation values of energy-momentum tensors caused by quantum fluctuations of a scalar field in anti-de Sitter braneworld models, focusing on Robin boundary conditions and applications to Randall-Sundrum scenarios.
Contribution
It provides a comprehensive review of vacuum density calculations in braneworlds with general boundary conditions and applies these results to the Randall-Sundrum model with arbitrary brane mass terms.
Findings
Explicit formulas for vacuum expectation values in AdS with Robin boundary conditions
Analysis of vacuum energies in Randall-Sundrum models with arbitrary brane masses
Insights into quantum effects in braneworld scenarios
Abstract
We give a short review of the recent development in the investigation of the vacuum expectation values of the bulk and surface energy-momentum tensors generated by quantum fluctuations of a massive scalar field with general curvature coupling parameter subject to Robin boundary conditions on two codimension one parallel branes located on -dimensional anti-de Sitter (AdS) bulk. An application to the Randall-Sundrum braneworld with arbitrary mass terms on the branes is discussed.
