Non-supersymmetric asymptotically AdS_5 x S^5 smooth geometries
Simon F. Ross

TL;DR
This paper constructs non-supersymmetric soliton solutions in five-dimensional gauged supergravity with asymptotically AdS_5 x S^5 geometry, highlighting the absence of smooth supersymmetric solutions and exploring related theories.
Contribution
It introduces new non-supersymmetric soliton solutions in five-dimensional gauged supergravity and compares them to previous asymptotically flat solutions, expanding understanding of smooth geometries.
Findings
No smooth supersymmetric solutions found.
Discrete families of non-supersymmetric solitons identified.
Failed to find smooth solutions in 4D and 7D gauged supergravities.
Abstract
We find soliton solutions in five-dimensional gauged supergravity, where a circle degenerates smoothly in the core of the geometry. In the family of solutions we consider, we find no completely smooth supersymmetric solutions, but we find discrete families of non-supersymmetric solitons. We discuss the relation to previous studies of the asymptotically flat case. We also consider gauged supergravities in four and seven dimensions, but fail to find any smooth solutions.
