TL;DR
This paper investigates how flavor mesons, represented by D7-brane fluctuations, can be localized on a brane in 5-dimensional backgrounds derived from type IIB supergravity, considering both supersymmetric and non-supersymmetric cases.
Contribution
It introduces a model embedding D7-branes in 5d backgrounds to study flavor meson localization in a brane-world scenario.
Findings
Flavor mesons can be localized on the brane in supersymmetric backgrounds.
In non-supersymmetric backgrounds, the brane is pushed to the boundary, affecting localization.
The localization behavior depends on the supersymmetry of the background.
Abstract
We propose a brane-world, which contains flavor quarks and mesons, by embedding dimensionally reduced D7-brane in both the supersymmetric and non-supersymmetric 5d background which are obtained as the solutions of type IIB supergravity compactified on Ad. In the supersymmetric case, the RS brane can be put at any point of the fifth coordinate, but it is pushed to the Ad boundary in the non-supersymmetric case. We study the localization of the flavor mesons, the fluctuation-modes of D7-brane, on the Randall-Sundrum brane in these backgrounds.
