A note on the static potential for a D=3 Born-Infeld theory coupled to a new generalized connection
Patricio Gaete

TL;DR
This paper calculates the static potential in a (2+1)-dimensional Born-Infeld theory with a generalized connection, revealing equivalence to $QED_3$ with Thirring interaction at short distances.
Contribution
It introduces a novel analysis of the static potential in a generalized Born-Infeld theory coupled to a new connection, showing its equivalence to known models in certain regimes.
Findings
Static potential matches $QED_3$ with Thirring interaction at short distances.
Results agree with those of topologically massive Born-Infeld theory.
Provides insights into the interaction structure of generalized Born-Infeld models.
Abstract
For a (2+1)-dimensional Born-Infeld theory coupled to a recently proposed generalized connection, we compute the interaction potential within the structure of the gauge-invariant but path-dependent variables formalism. The result is equivalent to that of with a Thirring interaction term among fermions, in the short distance regime. This result agrees with that of the topologically massive Born-Infeld theory.
