A Realization of Matrix KP Hierarchy by Coincident D-brane States
Hironori Yamaguchi, Satoru Saito

TL;DR
This paper connects the matrix KP hierarchy to string theory, showing how coincident D-branes can be interpreted as sources of nonabelian gauge fields within a novel formalism.
Contribution
It introduces a matrix generalization of the Sato-Wilson formulation of the KP hierarchy, linking integrable systems with D-brane physics.
Findings
Matrix KP hierarchy formulated via string theory
Coincident D-branes interpreted as nonabelian gauge sources
New formalism bridges integrable systems and string theory
Abstract
We describe the Sato-Wilson type formulation of the KP hierarchy within the framework of closed string theory. A matrix generalization of this formalism is shown to allow natural interpretation of coincident D-branes as a sourse of nonabelian gauge theory.
